I bought this book a while ago but just recently used it to study for the exam. It had most of the content that I needed, in fact it had more than any one resource that I used. Took the exam today and passed. Good luck
Worked for me! I used it to study for ANCC Med-Surg certification earlier this year, did all the chapter quizes, used it to refer to on questions I missed to study. It is succinct, but appropriate. This was the only tool I used to study. Good luck!
Arrived promptly. Very well organized. Great practice tests for each chapter, with a longer exam in the back of the book. I passed the certification exam and feel this reference book helped me prepare.
Through the grace of God, I just passed the exam! This book along with other resources helped me a lot. One of the disadvantages of this book is that at the end of each section, there's a Q&A portion with that the answers(along with rationale) to each question immediately listed after each question. This method does not truly allow an individual take the test without knowing what the correct answer. Instead the answers to the questions should be placed in another location i.e. the back. Also, it would be nice if the questions wer computer based (ex: having a accompanying CD). Otherwise, this is a good book!
Not done with the book yet but so far .. It's definitely great for reviewing.. Things that don't necessary come up in your everyday nursing day (depending on whst area you work in) is reviewed..
I was taking the MSN exam and got this as a study guide. I liked this book it made it easy to brush up on everything. The most important thing is I passed. Yes I would recommend this book it has a great post test at the end very similar to actual test questions. Good Luck
